The Sycamore Gap tree grew over 120 years into a beautiful Heart shape and it is this shape that I have used to create the outline of this print. I placed the centre of the tree at the top of the 'heart' as it mirrors the place the tree stood in the landscape. It felt very poignant to me that the tree had created its own 'gap' shape as it grew.
The print is an original hand burnished print created by pressing the paper by hand onto the surface of the wood. I will be able to continue printing this as long as I have the tree round available in my studio.
This prints is approximately A4 size and shows the first few years of it's growth.
It fits comfortably into the Rodalm Ikea 30x40cm frames.
It's available in 3 colours: Gold/ Venetian Red/Ultramarine blue.
