Northumberland Burr Elm fell 13 years ago and finally printed!
Charring the wood using the Shou Sugi Ban technique which raises the grain and burns away the softer wood. This gives me a printable surface which is revealed by wire brushing away all the burnt wood. I can then ink and hand print.
All my printmaking is to reveal the natural pattern and beauty of the wood, nothing is added or changed.
I am using Fabriano Unica handmade paper 50% cotton content 250gsm.
Each print is signed and has the edition number. The Black ink print is a limited edition of 150.
The image is available mounted using acid free mount board, with a fulfilment time of 3 days.
Burr Elm 1 and 2 prints complement each other and are the opposite sides of the same piece of wood.
The framed version has a fulfilment time of 7 days.
